More people are surviving cancer than People occasionally get Age Concern Central Lancashire confused with national older peoples charities but in reality, Age Concern Central Lancashire is a local and fully independent charity and the masters of its own destiny.

We are not part of Age UK. The charity was founded in and has deep rooted connections to the city of Preston and county of Lancashire. Age Concern Central Lancashire is a non-profit organisation, with its income being fully invested back into the charity to help older people and their carers across Lancashire.

However with the introduction of the Tinternet and increasing ecommerce activity, Age Concern can legitimately stake its claim as a truly global charity! Age Concern Central Lancashire never keeps still in its quest to support adults of all ages. Amassed over 40 years the charity has tonnes of experience in providing specialist services that truly make a difference to vulnerable people, their families and carers. We believe that chronological age does not define a person and that ageing well is a state of mind.

The organisation is registered with the Charity Commission No. The organisation started by offering social activities, befriending, and a car scheme. In a Relief Care Service was added and, for the first time, major funding from statutory services was received. This status requires the organisation to abide by several conditions, pertaining to acceptable use of the Age UK Brand, and to provide an Information and Advice Service, focusing on welfare benefits, housing options and care choices.
